CAREER DECISION LINKS

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING (INTERNSHIPS) AT RUTGERS-CAMDEN

The Career Center facilitates the ARTS & SCIENCES INTERNSHIP COURSE which provides learning experiences in business, education, healthcare, public service, social services and other fields for students enrolled in the College of Arts & Science, and The Honor's College. Students receive 3 Free Elective Credits.
Selected internships for the past year were completed at: 
Advertising System Inc., Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Camden County Prosecutor's,Camden County Public Defender's, CN 8, Communities In Schools Of NJ, Cooper Hospital, The Davis School, Gloucester Co. Probation, Health Care Quality Management, John J. Peters Institute, LEAP Academy Charter School, Maple Shade School District, Merrill Lynch, New Jersey Citzen Action, Parents Anonymous, Philadelphia Weekly, Smith Barney, TahBoo Boutique & Interiors, The Bridge, The Forensic Science Center of Philadelphia, and Volunteers of America.

Presently,  the Departments  of Childhood Studies, Fine Arts(Music) Foreign Languages, Music, History and Sociology are working in conjunction with the Career Center to provide major credit for students taking internships related to their academic major throught the Arts & Sciences Internship Class.

Students enrolled in the School of Business have the opporutnity to complete internships related to their business disciplines.  For more information on the SBC Internship Program, CLICK HERE

ON GRADUATE / PROFESSIONAL STUDY

The staff of the Career Center serve as the campus wide advisors for students and alumni pursuing graduate / professional study.   Resources are available to assist students at the Career Center, including the latest editions of Peterson's Guide to Graduate Study, a Free Graduate School Guide for schools east of the Mississippi, information on Scholarships/Assistantships/Fellowships, Testing and more.

James  Marino, Assistant Dean / Director of the Center is also the Premed Advisor.  Students who are interested in medical, dental, veterinary science, podiatry, optometry and related health fields should register with the Premed Advisor at the Career Center, Lower Level of the Campus Center.

  • REFERENCE SERVICE  The Career Center maintains reference files for students pursuing graduate and professional study.  You only have to do one reference per student which are copied and mailed to graduate/professional schools as a set upon permission of the student.  Students pursuing Law Schools should be directed to use the reference service provided by the LSDAS. ON JOB HUNTING

Encourage your students to create their account on eRecruiting where we are posting jobs and internships daily.   These are employers who specifically want to hire Rutgers students and alumni.  Posted on this site are full and part-time positions, internships, sumer jobs volunteer positions and fellowships and on-campus recruiting.   To access eRecruiting and other job sites, CLICK HERE

WORKING TOGETHER.....
  • Please check out our information on services for Employers and share it with employers who contact you for candidate referrals.  Encourage them to post their leads for jobs and internships with the Career Center at Rutgers-Camden...It's free and serves as a centralized database for " all " students and alumni.
  • Take a look at our Programs and encourage participation by your students. There are a number  major job and graduate school events held during the year, plus many other career programs to help your students succeed.
  • Please continue to refer students for counseling appointments.  The internet can only go so far in providing the support necessary for career success.
  • Career Center Staff are available for in-class presentations ( 10 - 50 minutes)  on virtually any career topic as well as a doing a general session about our services. Contact the Office at 856-225-6046.
