Powerpoint Presentation: Conquering Career Confusion

Your Major Decision

A Guide to Choosing a Major

Are you unsure about what major to choose?  Are you having second thoughts about the major you did declare?  If you are like many students, choosing or changing a major can be one of the most stressful experiences you will have as a college student.  Many students feel as if they are alone in this situation, that all of their friends know exactly what they want to do with their lives.

The fact is, nearly 20% of students start college without a designated major and over 65% of college students will change their major sometime during their college career.

The Career Center has put together this guide to assist you with your Major Decision.  By following the steps listed you can begin to choose a major.  This guide provides a way to narrow down your major options, including an on-line interest inventory and resources available to help you make a major decision.
