This course is designed for the College of Arts & Sciences student to complete an internship experience and earn up to 3 credits. This is an interdisciplinary course (50:090:399). This course can meet a general curriculum requirement. (Check with your Advisor for verification.) Selected departments will also grant academic major credit for internships approved by the department as being relevant to the major. Contact the Career Center for details and participating departments.
Open to all majors regardless of year of study.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be matriculated in the College of Arts & Sciences @ Rutgers - Camden (School 50)
Must be in good academic standing (minimum 2.0 GPA)
Internships must be approved by the Internship Coordinator
Internships must be at least 100 hours during the semester, at least 150 hours during the summer.
In addition to the practical experience, you'll need to attend some class sessions dealing with topices related to experiential learning and professional development
Complete other assignments as required by the Internship Coordinator
Current jobs may not be used for Internships. All internships must be a new learning experience.
STEPS
Secure the Internship. It is the responsibility of the student to secure the internship. Assistance is provided by the staff of the Career Center and Internship Coordinator. Internships are posted on line in the Career Center's RaptorNet System or in various Internship Directories...also at the Career Center
Have Your Internship Approved.
Internships must be approved for credit by the Internship Coordinator.
You and the Supervisor must Complete the Approval Form and return it to the Career Center.
Once approved, a special permission number will be granted for you to register for this Course. You can get the special permission number through the Career Center.

Special Note:
During the Summer Months, the internship course is also Open to any graduating senior from the Camden Campus who would like to use this course to do a post graduate internship This can be relevant for those students who never had the opportunity to do an internship or for those students planning to attend graduate/professional school in the Fall.
Students who wish to do an internship outside the Delaware Valley are also eligible for this course.
